Yanmar Co., Ltd. established a local subsidiary YANMAR TURKEY MAKINE A.S. (Yanmar Turkey Machine Corporation) in Turkey on September 29, 2017.

The company established a representative office in Turkey in August 2016, which carried out marketing activities and market surveys. Yanmar has now established a local subsidiary in Turkey in order to further develop business both in Turkey and surrounding regions and actively provide solutions to increase the efficiency of local energy production and contribute to the mechanization of agriculture.

1. Background and purpose of local subsidiary establishment

Investment in construction, including infrastructure improvements and construction of large scale housing projects, continues to grow in Turkey as the country looks towards the 100th anniversary of its founding in 2023. This construction rush is expected to significantly increase demand for regular use generators which can provide efficient power generation, as well as for emergency generators which can be used as backup power sources in the event of an emergency. Going forward, sales of regular use and emergency generators for use in newly constructed buildings, will allow the company to contribute to the construction of reliable and safe infrastructure in the region.  

In addition, Turkey is a major agricultural country ranked no. 1 for agriculture GDP in Europe, and no. 7 worldwide. However, the number of agricultural households has decreased by nearly 20% the last 10 years, and securing a reliable agricultural workforce is becoming a significant issue in some areas. In these conditions, Yanmar's high performance agricultural machinery will help alleviate labor shortages in agriculture and contribute to increased work efficiency.  

Going forward, Yanmar aims to help the people of the region realize improved lifestyles by providing products which meet the needs of local customers both in Turkey and surrounding regions, through its contributions to the mechanization of agriculture and efficient energy production.
