YANMAR sponsors youth football tournament Almere Challenge Event
YANMAR Europe B.V. is the proud sponsor of the Almere Challenge Event, an international youth football tournament where talents from eight top-level football clubs from the Netherlands and abroad compete against each other. The tournament is organised on 18 and 19 August 2018 by Almere City FC and is also sponsored by Loogman Carwash. The event aims to connect professional football talents up to 19 years old and young sports enthusiasts in exciting competitions and sporting challenges.
Sport, challenge and innovation
“Het Almere Challenge Event has everything that YANMAR Europe B.V. likes to identify with: challenge, sport, innovation and a direct connection with our city, "says Leo Lancee, Director General Affairs at YANMAR. "That’s why we are the proud sponsor of this international youth football tournament in the Yanmar Stadium in Almere. The event is also an invitation to all young inhabitants of Almere to come and measure their athletic strength and football skills against each other. Innovation is found in the innovative character of the event, with which Almere City FC wants to distinguish itself as a young professional club."
Sport as a motor
YANMAR wants to return something valuable to society. We find that in the energy and shared passion of practicing and experiencing sports. That is why we promote all kinds of sports activities. Both large and international, as well as small and local. Think of international football clubs like Cerezo Osaka, The New York Red Bulls and the Vietnamese national team. But also local activities such as Almere City FC and now the Almere Challenge Event.
Almere Challenge Event and Almere City FC Open Day
The Almere Challenge Event [MvD1] takes place for the first time this year and has the ambition to become an annual U19 football event. The organisation is in the hands of the Dutch first division club Almere City FC, sponsored by YANMAR Europe B.V. and Loogman Carwash. In addition to the matches between the youth talents of, among others, AEK Athens, AZ Alkmaar, Aberdeen FC, FC Utrecht and the home club Almere City FC, there are four football-related challenges for the visiting youth, such as the Panna Challenge and ‘Kratje van het latje’(Kick the crate off the crossbar) where the winner goes home with €450. There is also music from Dutch rappers such as Keizer, Bokoesam and Leafs, and plenty of food and drink at the Foodtrucks. On August 18, the first day of the tournament, is also the Open Day of Almere City FC, where the 2018-2019 selection presents itself to the public.
