MEET YANMAR AT ELECTRIC AND HYBRID MARINE WORLD EXPO

MEET YANMAR AT ELECTRIC AND HYBRID MARINE WORLD EXPO
generator set yanmar 4ynv88

·         New compact Generator Set for vessels up to 24meters

·         Dual Fuel (LPG/Diesel) Yanmar 6EY26DF engine

·         Yanmar Generators provide Hybrid Charging solutions

Yanmar, the Japanese engine manufacturer, has a long history of supplying generator sets for electric propulsion projects on a variety of ships in various countries worldwide.

At the heart of many of these projects are Yanmar medium speed diesel engines. These have been proven to offer low fuel oil consumption, reliability and easy maintenance. The engines can be supplied in low-emissions versions to comply with current and future environmental regulations, and with this in mind the range includes the dual-fuel (LNG or diesel) 6EY26DF which, when running on gas, produces exceptionally low emissions with no sacrifice in power output.

All of the engines are designed and built in-house by Yanmar, with priority given to lowering operational costs. This is achieved not only through low fuel consumption, but by the use of high-quality, durable parts and materials, ease of maintenance and simplified onboard systems. Yanmar also gives a high priority to after-sales service, with a global network offering service depots and rapid spare parts supply. This helps vessel owners  to exercise full control of operating costs.

Featured by Yanmar at the Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo (27th June to 29th June 2018, at the RAI in Amsterdam, the Netherlands) will be a new compact-sized marine genset designed as a total electrical power and propulsion solution for workboats, small ferries and other vessels up to approximately 24m length. The new Yanmar generator set is rated for 400V three-phase output, delivering 17kW at 1500 rpm, and is designed around a compact four-cylinder four stroke diesel Yanmar marine prime mover, water-cooled for quiet operation, coupled to a Stamford alternator. The design offers the legendary Yanmar reliability and low cost of ownership in a small-sized, lightweight package. The skid-mounted unit is 1545mm long, 876.5mm wide and 799mm overall height.

Eric Tigelaar - Manager Commercial Marine department

Eric Tigelaar, Manager Commercial Marine Department at Yanmar Europe, explains: “Listening to current customers we recognised a need for a generator that would be compact and affordable, while delivering the world-renowned reliability and quality of the Yanmar brand. We expect an attractive market to open up for fully solar-driven vessels of which the batteries will need to be charged by such a generator.“ Yanmar works proactively with ship designers, ship owners and shipbuilders as well as with other equipment manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the optimum solution to each electrical and hybrid marine propulsion project. Our strategy is to focus, to be accurate, to show initiative and to provide the right solution for each project.   END
