For the department Commercial Marine, located in Almere, we are looking to recruit a


Position summary:

Generate direct sales and sales via distributors/agent network in the field of medium speed and high speed engines


  • Develop the Yanmar commercial marine engine business in your assigned markets, via consultative selling

  • Build your own network of shipyards, ship owners, designers, local distributors to create new sales opportunities and expand the business

  • Support the costumer, by offering the customer solutions, technical assistance, project management and sharing our Yanmar experience throughout the project

  • Regularly visit your customers to discuss the running projects, new opportunities, commerce and other topics

  • Work closely together with your Japanese colleagues from Yanmar Japan, to solve your customers problems

  • Maintain close contact with your colleagues, to make sure your projects are running smoothly

  • Detect market opportunities / developments and formulate concrete proposals

  • Translate market intelligence data in business cases and enable management to take decisions

  • Assist the Sales Manager / Department manager in drawing up the department sales plan

  • Participate in general sales and service activities like for example: exhibitions

  • Handle customer satisfaction, customer complaints and quality issues


  • HBO-level education in technical or commercial field

  • Sales experience as consultative seller in a technical business-to-business environment

  • Sales experience with direct and distributor/dealer sales channels

  • Experience in marine industry or commercial vehicles industry is preferred

  • 3 - 5 year working experience in business to business is recommended

  • Excellent “customer-oriented” communication skills in English in speaking and writing

  • Other languages (e.g. German/Spanish/French) spoken and written are a plus

  • Ability to motivate all related members by team work
